It’s been a wonderful summer at SJMC! Although we have had an unseasonably warm few weeks, we are now

cooling down nicely and the weather is very pleasant. We’ve experienced a little rain lately as well. But the most exciting news is the regular increase in attendance at our worship services and other activities. The Lord has blessed us immeasurably with our new Pastor Blane and the Trant family.... Pastor Blane Trant preached his first sermon as Pastor of SJMC on July 16 and we had a potluck to welcome him, Amber, Rylan and Maddox. The next Sunday, Pastor Blane began a deep study of the book of Mark and all in attendance have been touched by his preparation and teaching.

Pastor Blane comes to us from Hope Evangelical Free Church in Iola, TX where he pastored for the past 4

years. He has served as a youth leader, a youth Pastor and a Lead Pastor in his career of kingdom service. He has coached football and baseball as well. The Trant family has also been involved in ranching and showing Santa Gertrudis cattle. Amber has been a kindergarten teacher in public and private schools. Rylan, age 15 has

shown cattle, and played baseball and football. Maddox, age 9 loves geology and rock collecting.

 

Since arriving in the Conejos Valley, Pastor Blane has volunteered to coach football in Antonito Schools and will

also coach baseball as well. Amber has been hired as a Kindergarten teacher and started school on August 16 with 19 students! Rylan is in the football program and is anxious to start the season. Both Blane and Amber have already been a presence in our community and are inviting new people to SJMC. They feel strongly that

growing our fellowship occurs in the pulpit and in the community as well.

We are beyond grateful for all who have come to worship with us this summer and we are already making plans for new mission and outreach activities for next Spring. We continue to explore new ways to enhance our worship experiences both in person and online as well. So many of our Family are seasonal and we may see you only a Sunday or two per year, so we invite you all to take advantage of three ways to worship with us electronically.
